About Mr Keval Patel
Mr Keval Patel is a Consultant Urologist, Prostate Cancer Lead at University Hospitals Birmingham, and Honorary Senior Research Fellow who specialises in robotic pelvic surgery, particularly for prostate and bladder cancer. He graduated from Imperial College London in 2005 and completed higher surgical training through the University of Cambridge, acquiring broad experience across hospitals in East Anglia. He further refined his expertise during a highly sought‑after robotic surgery fellowship at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, where he mastered minimally invasive and nerve‑sparing techniques for complex prostate cancer cases. In his clinical practice, Mr Patel manages a wide range of urological conditions, including prostate and bladder cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), testicular lumps, haematuria, haematospermia, recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) and other scrotal and voiding problems. He is known for combining advanced surgical skills with a personalised, patient‑centred approach to care Mr Patel is also an active researcher whose work has helped shape the understanding and treatment of urological cancers. He has presented his research internationally and lectures on postgraduate medical courses. As Research Lead for the urology department in Birmingham and an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham, he has secured over £250 000 in charitable funding to support innovative studies aimed at improving patient outcomes. He offers private consultations and treatments at The Harborne Hospital and The Priory Hospital in Birmingham.
