Kelly Tovey is a registered Dental Hygienist working at The Dental Clinic, Portishead. She graduated from Cardiff University with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene, and is a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy (BSDHT). She was appointed as Dental Representative for Cardiff University Dental Hygiene Student Cohort 2020-21, she mentored five students from the year one cohort and was subsequently awarded an Advanced Mentoring Certificate. She also qualified from the National Examining Board of Dental Nursing with a Distinction in 2018.
Prior to her work in dentistry, Kelly worked as a nurse and gained a wide range of experience; she assisted in bone grafts, implantology, sinus grafts, and as a sterile and non-sterile surgical nurse. Furthermore, she assisted in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry, as well as General Dentistry including endodontics and extractions.
Kelly is passionate about learning new skills and expanding her knowledge, she enjoys educating others and strives to keep this attitude throughout her career. She also has a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the University of West England, which she obtained in 2015, prior to her work in Nursing and Dentistry.
