Dr James completed her Bachelor of Social Sciences degree at the University of Cape Town, South Africa in 2008 followed by her Master’s degree in Neuropsychology at the same university in 2010. In 2013, she completed her PhD in Psychology from the University of Cape Town and in 2016, she completed her MA in Clinical Psychology and Community Counselling at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa.
Dr James has extensive clinical experience working across diverse age groups, including children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Her professional journey encompasses inpatient, outpatient, and occupational health contexts, both in South Africa and the United Kingdom. In the UK, she has practiced in both the NHS and private healthcare settings.
Dr James has a large background in clinical research, with a focus on psychological, neurological, and neuropsychological conditions. Her research particularly delves into understanding the effects of physiological and psychological stress on the brain and cognitive functioning.
