Mr Jan Herzog is a Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon specialising in the treatment of both adults and children. His surgical treatments include microdiscectomy for disc prolapse, spinal decompression for spinal stenosis, spinal fusion (cervical and lumbar) for neurogenic pain, vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty for spinal tumours, trauma and osteoporotic fractures, and correction and fusion surgery for scoliosis and kyphosis.
Mr Herzog is actively involved in spinal research, particularly in the areas of scoliosis, myeloma, and surgical navigation. He has published widely and lectures nationally and internationally. He is a member of the British Scoliosis Society and the Deutsche Wirbelsäulengesellschaft (German Spine Society), and is on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council (GMC).
Mr Herzog is known for his patient-focused approach, ensuring patients are fully informed and involved in decisions about their care. His background in international rowing, both as an athlete and national team doctor for Germany, also gives him a special interest in managing back pain in athletes.
