Dr. Ivone de Guadalupe Reis is a Clinical Psychologist with a diverse range of qualifications and expertise in the field of Clinical Psychology. Dr. Reis has published several articles, a chapter in a book and a book, as part of her ongoing PhD program at the University of Seville, in collaboration with the University of Barcelona and ISPA-Instituto Universitário.
Dr. Reis joined The Potentia Clinics, in September 2024, before that she was at The Psychiatry and Therapy Centre as a Clinical Psychologist and Trauma Specialist since eally 2023. Before that, she worked as a clinical psychologist and clinical director in renowned mental health centers in Dubai. She has also gained experience in leading a cutting-edge hospital in the UAE. Before moving to Dubai, Dr. Reis worked for over 10 years as a Clinical and Health Specialist Psychologist and Clinical Director in the Portuguese Private Health System.
She has a special interest and experience in working with trauma-related conditions and population like victims of violence and traumatic events, the LGBTQIA+ community, and other minority groups. Dr. Reis also offers a specialised Stress and Trauma Program, which includes trauma-focused evidence-based psychotherapy tailored to individual needs, referral to the Psychiatry department if required, collaboration with supportive family and friends, family therapy if needed, and group psychotherapy including Expressive Therapy.
Dr. Reis holds professional licenses as a Clinical Psychologist from the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and is recognized as a Psychologist Specialist in Clinical and Health Psychology by the Portuguese Psychology Society (OPP). She is also certified as a Supervisor of Clinical and Health Psychologists by the OPP.
Dr. Reis is an active member of professional associations such as the European Federation of Psychologists' Association (EFPA), the American Psychological Association (APA), the EMDR Portugal Association (AEMDRP), the EMDR Europe Association (EMDREA), and the European Society for Trauma & Dissociation (ESTD).
