Prof Indranil Chakravorty MBE

About
Professor Chakravorty qualified in Kolkata, India, and then trained as a Respiratory specialist in London. With over three decades of clinical experience, Professor Chakravorty is a Fellow of both the Royal College of Physicians London and Edinburgh, and holds a PhD in Health Services Studies from the University of Warwick. His academic roles include Senior Lecturer at St George’s, University of London, and Visiting Professor at the University of Hertfordshire. He is also the Honorary Founding Chair of the BAPIO Institute for Health Research and serves as Editor-in-Chief for The Physician Journal of International Health and Sushruta Journal of Health Policy.
Professor Chakravorty’s NHS work focuses on acute and respiratory medicine, and he currently leads medical education as Director of Medical Education at St George’s. He has previously held senior roles with Health Education England, overseeing the quality of postgraduate training across North East London. His clinical and academic interests align in his commitment to delivering personalised care underpinned by evidence-based medicine.
He speaks fluent English, Hindi and Bengali.
