About Dr Hossein Rostamipour
Dr Hossein Rostamipour is a Consultant General Adult and Old Age Psychiatrist, working in the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and Brain Health Clinic as part of his role within the National Health Service. He also holds practising privileges at Priory Hospital Roehampton located in London. Dr Rostamipour has a holistic and patient-centred approach to his practice. He is an expert in the assessment and treatment of conditions such as depression, stress related disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), psychosis, manic disorders, substance misuse and addictions, adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), personality disorders and trauma. In addition to this he also specialises in mental health issues relating to older adults including cognitive decline and memory problems associated with dementia. Dr Rostamipour is very passionate about promoting awareness of and helping people with ADHD. He believes that ADHD is one of the most common undiagnosed conditions, and it's not at all uncommon for people who struggle with ADHD to be discriminated against at school or work. From his extensive experience, he has found that there are two primary factors which can impact an ADHD diagnosis: anxiety and patients' long-developed coping mechanisms. Many people unintentionally downplay their difficulties as they have learned how to cope with their ADHD symptoms - they normalise conditions which could possibly be brought on by ADHD. He has two certificates of completion of training (CCT) in General Adult Psychiatry and Old Age Psychiatry from the UK. He is on the specialist register of the General Medical Council, after completing his basic medical qualification (MD). Dr Rostamipour is also a member of the prestigious Royal College of Psychiatrists.
