Univ.Prof. Dr. Hildegunde Piza, Pädiatrische Chirurgie, zählt zu den angesehensten Persönlichkeiten auf dem Gebiet der Plastischen und Wiederherstellungschirurgie, insbesondere der Handchirurgie. Ihre Expertise basiert auf jahrelanger Erfahrung und kontinuierlicher Forschung.
Nach dem Abschluss ihres Studiums war sie an renommierten Kliniken in Österreich tätig und baute eine Abteilung für Plastische Chirurgie auf, die sie mehrere Jahre leitete. Univ.Prof. Dr. Piza, Pädiatrische Chirurgie, war die erste Frau im deutschsprachigen Raum, die zur Universitätsprofessorin für Plastische Chirurgie ernannt wurde.
Sie engagierte sich in zahlreichen Fachgesellschaften und war Präsidentin der Österreichischen Gesellschaft für Plastische und Wiederherstellungschirurgie, der Österreichischen Gesellschaft für Chirurgie sowie der Österreichischen Gesellschaft für Handchirurgie. Unter ihrer Leitung entwickelte sich die Klinik, an der sie tätig war, zu einem Zentrum für die operative Korrektur von Handfehlbildungen bei Kindern.
Univ.Prof. Dr. Piza, Pädiatrische Chirurgie, gilt als Pionierin auf ihrem Gebiet und hat durch ihre Arbeit das Leben vieler Patientinnen und Patienten positiv beeinflusst.
