About
Her areas of interest include diagnosis and management of breast cancer, management of breast pain, breast reduction and implant reconstruction.
Miss Mathers graduated in medicine from Queen's University Belfast in 1996. She obtained fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh prior to undertaking a Breast Surgery Oncology Fellowship in Toronto, Canada. She was admitted to the Specialist Register for General Surgery in 2009, taking up a consultant post in 2010.
She has extensive training in breast cancer surgery and reconstruction, completing a further breast reconstruction fellowship in the Royal Marsden Hospital in London in 2017.
She is a member of the Association of Breast Surgery and sits on the Clinical Practice and Standards Committee.
