About Dr Hannah Douglas
Dr Douglas is a Consultant Cardiologist specialising in adult congenital heart disease and heart disease in pregnancy. In addition to this, she works broadly across the field of general cardiology. She obtained her primary medical degree from Queen's University Belfast and undertook the majority of her medical training at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast before coming to work at Guy's and St Thomas' as a Sub-Specialty Fellow. She has worked as a Consultant within the Adult Congenital Heart Disease and General Cardiology Team since January 2020. Dr Douglas is the lead for Heart Disease in the Pregnancy Team as well as contributes to the management of pulmonary hypertension. Her additional skills include transthoracic and transoesophageal echo, both day case and peri-procedural (catheter intervention and cardiac surgical). Her research interests to date have included a large observational cohort study towards a PhD looking at chronic total occlusive coronary disease with the use of cardiac MRI, as well as cardiomyopathy in pregnancy, placental dysfunction and identification in cardiovascular risk factor prediction as well as pulmonary hypertension in pregnancy and long-term cardiovascular health in women of childbearing age.
