About Mr Graeme Nicol
Mr Graeme Nicol is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee replacement surgery, as well as hip joint preservation techniques. With extensive training and expertise, Mr. Nicol is among a select group of fellowship-trained surgeons in the UK skilled in performing hip replacements using the direct anterior approach, aimed at enhancing postoperative pain relief and functionality for patients. In addition to routine hip replacement procedures, Mr. Nicol is proficient in complex hip revision surgery for patients requiring replacement maintenance, and he also performs innovative hip arthroscopy procedures using minimally invasive techniques. His practice includes a dedicated clinic for young and adolescent patients with hip issues, providing comprehensive and specialised care across all aspects of hip disease. Mr. Nicol's academic background includes degrees in Medicine (MBChB), a BMSc (Hons) in Applied Orthopaedic Technology, and a Master’s (MSc) in Musculoskeletal Biomechanics and Orthopaedic Technology. He completed rigorous fellowship training programs internationally in Ottawa, Canada, and Bristol, England, focusing on pelvic trauma and young adult hip pathology.
