About Mr Georgios Arealis
Mr. Georgios Arealis is a highly accomplished Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at East Kent University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, specialising in shoulder, elbow, and upper limb surgery. In addition to his clinical work, Mr. Arealis holds the position of Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Social Care at Canterbury Christchurch University and serves as an Honorary Researcher at the School of Engineering and Digital Arts at the University of Kent. He is also a Clinical and Educational Supervisor for Stage 3, Year 5 medical students from King's College London, where he teaches alongside his roles at the European University of Cyprus and Kent and Medway Medical School. Mr. Arealis practices privately across all Spencer Private Hospitals in Kent and at the Phoenix Hospital Group in London, including Weymouth Street Hospital and 25 Harley Street. His expertise encompasses the arthroscopic management of shoulder and elbow conditions, as well as primary and revision arthroplasty. With a particular focus on biologic treatments for arthritis and sports injuries, Mr. Arealis has over a decade of experience using platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy to achieve effective results. Having completed prestigious fellowships, including the Reading Shoulder and Elbow Centre Fellowship and the Shoulder and Knee Sports Fellowship at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital’s Large Joints Unit, Mr. Arealis is recognised as a leading authority in his field. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, an International Member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a member of the European Shoulder Associates section of the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery & Arthroscopy (ESSKA). With a robust academic and research background, Mr. Arealis was awarded a PhD from the University of Thessaloniki and has since contributed to numerous postgraduate PhD and master’s projects. He is an active researcher with multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals, and his work is widely accessible on platforms such as Google Scholar, ORCID, and ResearchGate. He regularly lectures on shoulder and elbow surgery at national and international conferences and is a faculty member of the renowned Athens Shoulder Course.
