Dr Crighton is also the past president of the Australia and New Zealand Society of Blood Transfusion (ANZSBT) and was previously the chair of the paediatric subgroup of the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) Clinical Transfusion and Haemovigilance Working Parties.
