Dr Fahad Alharbi is a highly experienced Consultant Neonatologist and Pediatrician, currently serving as the Head of the Neonatology Department. With a distinguished career dedicated to the care of newborns, he specialises in the management of complex medical conditions affecting premature and critically ill infants. His expertise encompasses the full spectrum of neonatal intensive care, ensuring that vulnerable patients receive the highest standard of medical attention during their most critical early days.
He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from King Saud University in 1992. Following his graduation, Dr Alharbi pursued advanced postgraduate training, achieving the Arab Board certification in Paediatrics. He further honed his specialisation by completing both the Saudi Fellowship and the Australian Fellowship in Neonatal and Perinatal Medicine. His academic background is complemented by his previous role as an Assistant Professor, reflecting his commitment to medical education and research.
In his clinical practice, Dr Alharbi focuses on the management of respiratory distress syndrome, neonatal sepsis, and the nutritional needs of infants. He is proficient in advanced life support techniques, including neonatal resuscitation and mechanical ventilation. Beyond his clinical duties, he has held significant leadership positions, including serving as the Secretary General of the Saudi Neonatal Society for six years, where he contributed to the advancement of neonatal care standards across the region.
