About Dr Emma Salisbury
Dr Emma Salisbury was appointed Consultant Nephrologist at the Imperial College Renal & Transplant Centre, Hammersmith Hospital, London in 2016. She leads young adult renal care and works closely with paediatric colleagues at Great Ormond Street Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, supporting the transition of patients from paediatric to adult services. She has broad experience across all aspects of general nephrology, including glomerular disease, hypertension, renovascular disease, and both acute and chronic renal failure. Her particular clinical and academic interest lies in renal transplantation. She was awarded a PhD by Imperial College London in 2013 following three years of research in transplant immunology, reflecting her strong foundation in both clinical practice and research. Dr Salisbury qualified in medicine (MBChB) with Honours from the University of Edinburgh in 2004 and gained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2007. She completed all of her specialist nephrology training in London, where she now lives with her family and four children.
