About Ms Elizabeth Gough
I am an experienced therapist with specialist training in a wide range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS). I work with both common mental health difficulties such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and stress, as well as more complex presentations that may involve trauma, personality difficulties, or long-standing patterns of distress. My integrative approach means that I draw on strategies and techniques from multiple modalities, tailoring therapy to meet the individual needs of each person I work with. I believe strongly in the importance of the therapeutic relationship and strive to create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where clients feel at ease from the very beginning of their therapeutic journey. My goal is to support individuals in developing greater self understanding, resilience, and the skills needed to achieve meaningful and lasting recovery.
