Informazioni
Elizabeth Bergman is an eating disorders therapist at Nightingale Hospital in London, where she works with individuals experiencing a range of mental health difficulties, with a particular focus on eating disorders and perinatal mental health. She treats conditions such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder (BED), Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorders (OSFED), as well as depression, postnatal depression, anxiety, panic attacks, bereavement, sleep disorders, and stress. She works with both adult and adolescent clients.
Elizabeth holds a Master of Education and a Master of Arts in Psychological Counselling from Teachers College, Columbia University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Touro College. She also holds a CBT-E certification for eating disorders from the University of Oxford. She is an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and speaks both English and Hebrew.
Her therapeutic approach combines cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), psychotherapy, sleep therapy, and specialised eating disorder treatment. She also integrates dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), art therapy, mindfulness meditation, and holistic, strengths-based techniques in her work.
Elizabeth has extensive clinical experience in both the UK and the US. Prior to joining Nightingale Hospital in 2020, she worked across various mental health settings, including as a psychotherapist at Metro Behavioral Health Associates and Pathways Psychological Services in New York, and as a Clinical Intake Coordinator for Coordinated Behavioral Care. In this role, she conducted psychological evaluations for patients in inpatient psychiatry units and helped coordinate discharge planning with hospitals across New York, working with individuals diagnosed with conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, PTSD, eating disorders, and military-related trauma. She has also worked with developmentally disabled individuals, patients with chronic or terminal illness, and victims of trauma, including those affected by 9/11 and international terror incidents.
In addition to her clinical practice, Elizabeth continues to volunteer with organisations such as Chai Lifeline and DOROT, supporting children, adolescents, and adults in both hospital and community-based settings. She has also volunteered with the National Eating Disorders Association and Monte Nido, offering support to individuals living with eating disorders.
