Elixabete Guruceaga O’Leary is a dedicated counsellor and psychotherapist based in Killarney, Co. Kerry, where she runs her private practice, Kerry Psychotherapy. Originally from San Sebastian in the Basque Country of Spain, Elixabete moved to Ireland in 2003, a life-changing decision that led her to pursue her passion for helping others on a deeper emotional level. She began her training at PCI College in Dublin, graduating in 2018 with a BSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy. She also holds a Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy and a Certificate in Mental Health in the Community.
Since 2018, Elixabete has worked with adults across Ireland, both in person and online, offering therapy in English and Spanish. She specialises in a wide range of issues, including women’s health, trauma and developmental trauma, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, intellectual disability, and work-life balance. Her approach is integrative and holistic, drawing on humanistic, person-centred, psychodynamic, CBT, and body-oriented modalities.
Elixabete believes in fostering a safe, collaborative therapeutic space where clients lead the process. Deeply compassionate and experienced, she is committed to helping individuals heal, grow, and live more fulfilling lives, one patient at a time.
