About Dr Elika Kashef

Dr. Elika Kashef is the Head of Interventional Radiology and Directorate Safety Lead at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in London. She graduated from Kings College, London in 2001 and initially trained as a general surgeon for three years before transitioning into radiology at HHNT Trusts, now known as Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Dr. Kashef further specialised by completing her interventional radiology fellowship at St Mary’s Hospital between 2008 and 2010, after which she was appointed as a consultant interventional radiologist and became the lead for trauma radiology in 2011. Her clinical interests are diverse, with a particular focus on women’s health. Dr. Kashef specialises in imaging and treatment modalities for conditions such as pelvic congestion, utilising pelvic ultrasound and transvaginal (internal) venous duplex studies to assess pelvic pain. She also has expertise in imaging for infertility and benign gynaecological conditions, including the use of hysterosalpingograms and HyCoSy. Within interventional radiology, her interests include uterine fibroid embolisation, ovarian vein embolisation, and fallopian tube recanalisation, making her a recognised expert in minimally invasive treatments that enhance patient outcomes.

"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
