Dr Waseem Bakkour MD, MSc, FRCP (UK) is a leading Consultant Dermatologist, and one of a small number of UK consultants with dual fellowship training in both Mohs micrographic surgery and advanced laser dermatology. He is based on Harley Street, London.
He specialises in:
• Skin cancer surgery and Mohs micrographic surgery — the gold-standard treatment for high-risk basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC)
• Advanced laser dermatology — acne scarring, rosacea, pigmentation, melasma, thread veins, vascular lesions, scars, sun damage and skin ageing.
• High-end aesthetic dermatology — anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers,biostimulators, RF microneedling and HIFU
• General dermatology
Dr Bakkour trained at Salford Royal, one of the UK's leading dermatology centres, and completed a Royal College-approved fellowship in Mohs surgery, laser and aesthetic dermatology. He went on to serve as a substantive NHS Consultant at University College London Hospital (UCLH), where he ran the skin cancer service and performed Mohs surgery for complex cases.
He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals including the British Journal of Dermatology and has presented his research both nationally and internationally. He is a recognised key opinion leader on lasers and aesthetic dermatology. Dr Bakkour is also actively involved in training the next generation of dermatologists.
