Dr Stern completed his medical degree at St George’s Hospital Medical School in 1987 followed by Haematology training at the Hammersmith, Charing Cross, and Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals. In his outpatient practice, Dr Stern specialises in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of common haematological conditions. These include anaemia, disorders of white blood cells and platelets, haemochromatosis, thrombotic disorders, and haematological malignancies.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr Stern has published numerous papers in clinical haematology. He is the lead author of the British Society for Haematology good practice paper on the investigation and management of MGUS. His influence also extends to leadership roles, as he currently serves as the Chair of the UK Myeloma Forum Guidelines Group. Furthermore, he is a distinguished member of the British Society for Haematology Haemato-oncology Task Force and the Myeloma UK Early Diagnosis Steering Committee.
