About Dr Senthil Kirubakaran
Dr Kirubakaran is a Portsmouth-based cardiology consultant and electrophysiologist who has worked at the Queen Alexandra Hospital since 2014. During his time there he has introduced new treatments to the complex arrhythmia service and is the current service lead. Dr Kirubakaran has also pioneered a specific arrhythmia teaching program within the Wessex region and leads arrhythmia teaching in the area. Dr Kirubakaran holds consultations for private patients at Spire Portsmouth Hospital and Spire Southampton Hospital. He sees patients with all general cardiology conditions but has specialist expertise in the assessment and management of arrhythmia. Dr Kirubakaran performs interventions for most arrhythmias including atrial tachycardia and supraventricular tachycardia (SVT). Following his qualification in 1998, Dr Kirubakaran was awarded the British Heart Foundation Research Grant to carry our work in cardiac electrophysiology and atrial fibrillation. After achieving his Doctor of Medicine, he undertook further training in renowned cardiac centres in London and Milan, where he was able to become skilled in the management of complex arrhythmia.
