About Dr Regi George
Dr Regi George is a consultant gastroenterologist and endoscopist who sees patients at The Highfield Hospital in Rochdale, Lancashire. He has been a consultant gastroenterologist since 1996, with a particular interest in diagnostic and advanced endoscopic treatments, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy. He also performs capsule endoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy (gastroscopy), and provides screening and treatment for a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions. Dr George is involved in the Manchester Regional UGI Cancer Board and supports the development of specialist upper gastrointestinal cancer services across Manchester. He also works as a colonoscopist for Pennine Bowel Cancer Screening and is authorised to perform advanced upper and lower GI endoscopy procedures at Pennine and Salford Royal NHS Hospitals. His clinical interests include dyspepsia, gastroesophageal reflux disease, Barrett’s oesophagus and early gastrointestinal cancers, irritable bowel symptoms, inflammatory bowel diseases (such as Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and microscopic colitis), and gastrointestinal malabsorption including coeliac disease and pancreatic insufficiency. He also has expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic GI endoscopy and endoscopic mucosal resection. Dr George offers consultations for bowel cancer treatment, Crohn’s disease surgery, ulcerative colitis treatment, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), oesophageal and stomach cancer treatment, and haemorrhoidectomy. He also provides private bowel cancer screening and anti-reflux surgery. He is a member of the British Society of Gastroenterology, the General Medical Council, the Manchester Regional UGI Cancer Board and the Pennine Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.
