About
Dr Savage trained in Medical Oncology at the Royal Marsden and Imperial Hospitals and was for many years a Consultant at Charing Cross Hospital in London where they were the lead clinician for chemotherapy and urology oncology. Following a career break in Vancouver Island, Canada, working for the British Columbia Cancer Agency, Dr Savage returned to the UK. Dr Savage has a specialist interest in the management of urology malignancies and also in rare malignancies.
Dr Savage obtained a PhD in the immunotherapy of cancer and has retained an ongoing activity in this area. They have worked closely with a number of biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies on both immunotherapy and cancer gene therapy projects. More recently, Dr Savage has worked on a new approach to chemotherapy sensitivity and resistance of cancer cells and exploring the potential for novel approaches to therapy. Alongside these laboratory-based projects, Dr Savage has also published several papers looking at clinical research predominantly in gynaecology oncology and uro-oncology.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
