Dr Neil Perera is a Consultant Rheumatologist based in Ilford, Essex. Dr Perera graduated from University of Colombo Sri Lanka in 1992 and undertook his training in Sri Lanka. He joined his current hospital as a junior rheumatologist in 2005 and progressed to become a Substantive Consultant Rheumatologist, having obtained GMC specialist registration in Rheumatology. Dr Perera investigates and treats all forms of rheumatological conditions and his areas of interests are rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, polymyalgia rheumatica, SLE, gout and soft-tissue rheumatism such as fibromyalgia. Dr Perera has many professional memberships including National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society and Royal Osteoporosis Society. Outside of his work, Dr Perera enjoys music and cricket. He is a musician, plays guitar at a professional level and has performed with renowned Sri Lankan singers who came on tour to perform in the UK.
