About Dr Navtej Chahal
Dr Navtej Chahal is a Consultant Cardiologist at London Northwest NHS Trust. He sees private patients at The Clementine Churchill Hospital, London Clinic and The Wellington Hospital. Additionally, Dr Chahal holds the position of Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London. Graduating from Guy's and St Thomas' Medical School in 2001, Dr Chahal earned his PhD in 2012, focusing on early imaging markers of cardiovascular disease. His research, particularly concerning individuals of Indian Asian ethnicity and patients undergoing head and neck radiotherapy in the LOLIPOP study, has been extensively published - exploring the role of non-invasive imaging in epidemiology, ethnicity-related differences in cardiac function, and the utility of stress imaging in valvular disease assessment. In 2011, Dr Chahal assumed the role of Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellow at The Royal Brompton Hospital, gaining substantial experience in stress echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography, cardiovascular MRI, and cardiac CT. His current clinical research focuses on refining the assessment of valvular heart disease and chest pain using rest echocardiography, stress echocardiography, and cardiac MRI. In his clinical practice, Dr Chahal attends to patients with diverse cardiovascular concerns, including chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations/arrhythmia, valve disease, hypertension, patent foramen ovale (PFO), heart failure, cardiomyopathy, and dyslipidaemia.
