About
Matthew graduated from Leicester Medical School in 1994, and undertook junior doctor training in the East Midlands. After this, he went on to complete his specialist rheumatology training in the North-east of England, and in 2005, he obtained his certificate of completion of specialist training. He was then appointed Consultant Rheumatologist at Darlington Memorial Hospital, where he later became and Head of department in 2013. He also became the trust lead for both the osteoporosis, and neurophysiology services. Dr Bridges has special interests in osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and soft tissue rheumatic problems, and has also published articles on a variety of other rheumatological conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, and psoriatic arthritis.
