Dr O'Riordan is a Consultant Neurologist with a busy NHS and private practice. He treats patients presenting with a range of neurological disorders, and has considerable expertise in the diagnosis and effective management of patients dealing with Multiple Sclerosis. His research interests are mainly in the field of multiple sclerosis and other inflammatory demyelinating disorders.
Dr O'Riordan read medicine at University College Dublin winning a range of scholarships and prizes. He then pursued an MD at the Institute of Neurology, London before training at Guys and St Thomas, St Marys and The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr O'Riordan serves as Director of Tayside MS Research Unit which has been awarded the QUDOS award as Best Multi-diciplinary Team by the MS Trust 2015. He also sits on the UK National Advisory Committee for acquired brain injury and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Dundee.
Dr O'Riordan regularly contributes work to peer-reviewed papers in high-quality neurology and general medical journals. He also provides over 150 Medical Legal opinions to both prosecution and defence.
