Dr Arnd Dominik Schlosshan is a Consultant Cardiologist with expertise in cardiac imaging and heart valve disease, recognised as a leading figure in the field of non-invasive cardiac assessment. He is the clinical lead of one of the UK’s largest echocardiography departments and valve clinics at Leeds General Infirmary, where he plays a central role in the specialist valve team. His work includes providing advanced imaging to support complex interventions such as trans-catheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), and he is actively involved in clinical trials exploring innovative treatments for heart valve disease.
Dr Schlosshan graduated in medicine in 1997 and is on the specialist register for both cardiology and general internal medicine. He was awarded his MD from the University of Leeds in 2008, having completed specialist training in West Yorkshire and advanced fellowships in echocardiography and cardiac CT in Sydney, Australia. He became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2000 and holds multiple earlier licenses from the Royal Colleges of Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Alongside his clinical and academic work, Dr Schlosshan is a Council Member of the British Heart Valve Society, and an active member of the British Society of Echocardiography and the British Medical Association.
