Dr. Sarker holds the position of Senior Lecturer and serves as an Honorary Consultant in Medical Oncology at both Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. His expertise lies in the treatment of hepato-pancreatic-biliary malignancies, including liver cancer, bile duct cancer, pancreatic cancer, neuro-endocrine cancer, adrenal glands cancer, and gallbladder cancer.
As a dedicated researcher and medical professional, Dr. Sarker's primary focus is on advancing cancer therapies. He collaborates with Dr. James Spicer to lead the Early Phase Clinical Trials Unit, located at Guy's Hospital. This unit plays a pivotal role in the development of innovative cancer treatments. Dr. Sarker also actively participates in the management of hepato-pancreatic-biliary malignancies at King's College Hospital Liver Unit. He has a particular interest in pioneering new therapies and molecular imaging techniques tailored to these types of tumours.
Dr. Sarker earned his medical degree from the University of Liverpool in 1997. He then pursued further training in internal medicine and medical oncology. In 2003, he was granted a prestigious Cancer Research UK Clinical Research Fellowship within the Drug Development Unit of The Royal Marsden Hospital and Institute of Cancer Research. This fellowship paved the way for the completion of his PhD. Dr. Sarker completed his medical oncology training at The Royal Marsden in 2010.
