After Dr Carole McAlister qualified from the University of Edinburgh in 1988, her training has taken her across the world to Australia, New Zealand and Nepal. She then returned to Scotland to work as an NHS GP in South Edinburgh.
Her special interests include womens' health, aesthetics, diabetes and cardiovascular medicine. Since graduating, Dr McAlister has undertaken many qualifications including achieving a distinction in the University of Warwick Diploma in Diabetes in 2000 and completing an Allergy Degree Module through the National Respiratory Training Centre at the University of Warwick. She has also worked as a GP Specialist in allergy at Yorkhill Hospital in Glasgow.
In 2008 she undertook the "Facial Aesthetics in General Practice" course and subsequently she achieved the "Advance Facial Aesthetics and Dermal Fillers" certificate for Doctors.
She regularly attends professional development courses, study groups and practical sessions and continually updates and broadens her skills in non-surgical aesthetics treatments.
Dr McAlister has also practiced acupuncture for the last 17 years and she continues to attend courses and meetings through the British Medical Acupuncture Society to maintain her skills.
With over 12 years of private medical practice behind her, she strives to deliver easy access personalised healthcare in a relaxed and comfortable setting.
