He became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) in 1982, as a Fellow of the RCOG in 1998. Since 1986, he has been actively involved in the fertility and IVF field, continuously expanding his knowledge and honing his skills in this specialized area of medicine.

As the former Group Medical Director for Bourn Hall International, Dr. Robertson played a pivotal role in overseeing Bourn Hall's overseas clinics in the UAE and India. His responsibilities included ensuring the highest standard of medical care and strategic development of the clinics. This experience provided him with valuable insights into global fertility practices and the diverse needs of patients from different regions.

Dr. David Robertson's expertise extends to the genetic aspects of fertility treatment, including preimplantation genetic testing (PGT).
