About

A/Prof David Littlejohn is a specialist oncoplastic breast surgeon with over 25 years of experience in breast cancer and reconstructive surgery. He trained in Australia, completing his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) at Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick, before undertaking further subspecialist training in oncoplastic breast surgery.

His clinical practice includes the full range of breast cancer surgery and oncoplastic procedures, including breast-conserving surgery, mastectomy, and flap-based reconstruction techniques. He also manages breast implant-related complications and provides diagnostic and surgical treatment for benign and malignant breast conditions. In addition, he has experience in endocrine and general surgery, including minimally invasive parathyroid procedures.

Dr Littlejohn has held leadership roles within Breast Surgeons of Australia and New Zealand, including founding Chair of the Oncoplastic Group and Chair of the Oncoplastic Committee, as well as serving as Vice President of the Breast Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand. He has contributed to the development of oncoplastic training programmes and cadaveric surgical workshops across Australia and New Zealand.

He is involved in clinical research and serves as a co-investigator in breast cancer trials. He also contributes to postgraduate education as a lecturer for breast surgery training programmes and participates in national and international surgical conferences.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
