Dr Edis sees surgery as only one part of the solution for patients and encourages them to seek further information about their conditions to ensure they can make an informed choice and, when appropriate, pursue non-operative treatments and self-management before making a decision to have surgery.
Dr Edis was one of the first in Australia to use CT navigation and robotic guidance when the technology was in its infancy. As an early adopter of these techniques, Dr Edis is one of the few spine surgeons who can offer this expertise to patients. Now, over 85% of Dr Edis' spinal surgeries use this advanced technology, which aims to deliver higher screw accuracy rates leading to improved patient outcomes such as fewer revision surgeries.
