Mr
Mr Dan Wilson
Orthopaedic Surgery
About
During his training he gained an interest in hip surgery as well as pelvic and acetabular (hip socket) and lower limb trauma. Over half of his training was spent in tertiary referral units for trauma and complex arthroplasty giving a comprehensive experience in hip and knee replacement surgery and trauma.
Following successful completion of specialist training in 2019 he completed a pelvic & acetabular trauma fellowship in Adelaide, Australia followed by a Royal College of Surgeons accredited hip fellowship in Frimley Park Hospital, UK. He was appointed as a Consultant at University Hospitals Sussex in 2021
Daniel manages pelvic and acetabular trauma as well as revision (redo) hip surgery. He also performs primary hip and knee replacements and lower limb trauma surgery. His training gives him an excellent grounding in the management of complex hip problems including failing and problematic hip replacements. He works as part of the local complex arthroplasty unit based at University Hospitals Sussex where a team approach is used for the management of complex joint replacement problems including infections.
He prides himself of taking a patient centered and individualised approach and takes his time to explain options to patients so they are fully involved in the decision making process.
He attends national and international conferences and training courses to keep up to date with the latest treatments and advances in his area of expertise. He has a number of published articles in leading peer reviewed journals
Daniel likes to keep fit by running and cycling. When not providing a taxi service for his two busy children he also enjoys spending time in the beautiful Sussex countryside with his young family.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
