About Mr Daniel Phillip Thomas
Phill Thomas is a full time orthopaedic surgeon at Cardiff and Vale NHS trust and Nuffield Health. He specialises in paediatric, adolescent and young adult hip problems. He performed the first robotic assisted hip replacement in Wales in 2021. Phill was born and raised in Llandeilo, West Wales and went to medical school at St Thomas’s Hospital, London. He did his orthopaedic training in Wales and Toronto, Canada. He started as a consultant in Cardiff in 2001. Phill has worked with Scarlets rugby since 2007 and provides medical cover for them as well as Wales senior rugby team. He regularly treats hip problems in professional sportspeople. Phill has presented research and lectures at many international conferences related to his work and enjoys networking across the world in his field of expertise.
