Dr Claire Agathou is a dedicated and compassionate general practitioner with over 15 years of experience in the medical field. She is a co-founder of the A-Z General Practice at The Wellington Hospital in London, part of HCA Healthcare UK, and her NHS practice is based in the heart of Central London in Fitzrovia. Dr Agathou has a wide-ranging expertise and is well known for her compassionate approach and thorough care. She completed her medical degree in 2011 and then went on to complete her specialist GP training at The Royal Free Hospital in London. Her vast experience spans neonatal and paediatric care, neurology and stroke medicine, respiratory medicine, sexual health and infectious disease, dermatology, women's health and family planning, breast, urology and general surgery.  She has a particular extended interest in acute and emergency medicine, enabling her to offer comprehensive care for patients of all ages across a range of different health concerns.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Agathou serves as the Named Doctor for child safeguarding for the borough of Camden, highlighting her commitment to the wellbeing of the community's most vulnerable. She is known for her patient-centred approach, building strong, collaborative relationships with her patients to empower them in managing their health.

Dr Agathou is also passionate about education, actively mentoring UCL medical students and trainee doctors and is invited to interview prospective medical students yearly.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new destinations, and leading a balanced lifestyle that reflects the holistic approach to wellness she advocates for her patients.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
