About Dr Charlotte Frise

Dr Charlotte Frise is a Consultant Obstetric Physician at Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital in London and the Lead Consultant Obstetric Physician for the NW London Maternal Medicine Network. Dr Frise began her medical education at Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge, where she graduated with First Class Honours. She then pursued her clinical training at the University of Oxford, remaining there as a junior doctor and completing her training in General (Internal) Medicine. She subsequently worked as a consultant in General Medicine and Obstetric Medicine at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford for seven years before assuming her current position. Dr Frise has published numerous book chapters and articles. She authored a series of electronic learning modules on Medical Problems in Pregnancy and wrote the widely acclaimed textbook "Obstetric Medicine" in the Oxford Specialist Handbooks of Obstetrics and Gynaecology series, published by Oxford University Press in July 2020. In January 2023, her book "Oxford Case Histories in Obstetric Medicine" was also published by Oxford University Press. In 2018, she was appointed co-Editor-in-Chief of the international journal "Obstetric Medicine: The Medicine of Pregnancy." Dr Frise is also a Senior College Lecturer in Clinical Medicine at Keble College, University of Oxford and Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College, London. She is an enthusiastic educator of undergraduates as well as junior doctors, for example those preparing for the clinical part of the membership examinations of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP PACES). Additionally, she serves as a PACES examiner for the Royal College of Physicians. Dr Frise has a number of additional roles including Secretary of the Macdonald Obstetric Medicine Society and obstetric physician representative on the UKOSS steering committee.
