Ms Charlene Taylor
Psychotherapy
About
Her areas of special interest and additional experience include addressing issues related to abuse, addiction, and trauma. Charlene has provided 18 years of individual psychotherapy to adults and young people grappling with addictions, relationship challenges, and mild to moderate mental health issues. She is particularly skilled in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), an effective method for treating trauma and enhancing emotional well-being.
Charlene's approach is holistic and creative, grounded in integrative therapy with a psychosynthesis underpinning. This allows her to work holistically and creatively with each client's unique needs and potential. As a self-employed therapist, she offers both short-term and long-term therapy and provides flexible scheduling to accommodate her clients' needs.
Her recent role as a lead psychotherapist at an inpatient unit for women diagnosed with personality disorders has further honed her skills. She has facilitated therapeutic groups, provided reflective practice, and gained valuable experience in forensic healthcare, psychiatric wards, parent and family interventions, schools, and community settings. Charlene's therapeutic style is relational, drawing on psychodynamic and attachment theories to inform her interventions.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
