About Prim. Univ.Prof. Dr Beatrix Volc-Platzer
Prim. Univ.Prof. Dr. Beatrix Volc-Platzer ist Fachärztin für Dermatologie und Venerologie. Ihre Schwerpunkte liegen in den Bereichen Immunodermatologie, Dermatohistopathologie und Kinderdermatologie. Sie absolvierte ihr Studium an der Universität Innsbruck, Österreich. Nach ihrer Promotion im Jahr 1978 folgte eine Tätigkeit am Institut für Pathologie der Universität Wien. Anschließend spezialisierte sie sich an den Universitätskliniken für Dermatologie in Innsbruck und Wien auf Dermatologie und Venerologie. Im Jahr 1989 habilitierte sie sich und erlangte 1995 die Ernennung zur außerordentlichen Professorin. Ihre Expertise brachte sie zudem in der Forschung am ehemaligen Sandoz Forschungsinstitut in Wien ein. Prim. Univ.Prof. Dr. Beatrix Volc-Platzer engagiert sich in zahlreichen Fachgesellschaften und war von 2008 bis 2010 Präsidentin der Österreichischen Gesellschaft für Dermatologie und Venerologie (ÖGDV).
