About
Dr Stevens specialises in the psychological treatment of a wide range of conditions, including depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorders, drug and alcohol dependency, eating disorders, and work-related stress. She has particular expertise in the psychological management of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), including trauma reactions stemming from early life experiences, accidents, and combat stress in military veterans.
In addition to her therapeutic work, Dr Stevens has significant experience in neuropsychological evaluations, including the assessment of learning disabilities in adults, dementia, and social functioning assessments.
Her previous appointments include serving as a Consultant Forensic and Clinical Psychologist in the NHS from 1983 to 2002 at Runwell Hospital’s Medium Secure Unit in Essex. Dr Stevens is highly experienced in using cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based approaches to support individuals in overcoming psychological difficulties and improving their quality of life.
