About Ms Arifa Siddika
Miss Arifa Siddika is a Consultant Colorectal and Hernia Surgeon based in London. She specialises in hernia surgery, fistulae-in-ano, and pelvic floor disorders, with extensive experience in both elective and emergency colorectal practice. She has particular expertise in robotic and laparoscopic hernia surgery and provides comprehensive management of complex incisional and recurrent hernias, including abdominal wall reconstruction. Her approach focuses on minimally invasive techniques to support faster recovery and optimal outcomes where appropriate. Miss Siddika also offers specialist care for complex fistulae-in-ano, including advanced minimally invasive proceduressuch as VAAFT and EPSiT, alongside conventional surgical treatments. She leads on the management of pelvic floor disorders within her NHS practice and treats a wide range of benign colorectal and proctological conditions. She is a JAG-accredited lower gastrointestinal endoscopist and provides colonoscopy for patients with abnormal FIT test results, as well as assessment and treatment of benign colorectal disease. Miss Siddika is an elected member of the Abdominal Wall Reconstruction Committee of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI). She is actively involved in teaching and research, with multiple peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, and serves as a Visiting Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London. She is also faculty for Royal College of Surgeons courses and a peer reviewer for the Journal of Robotic Surgery. She completed her specialist training in the East of England, followed by a prestigious fellowship at Nottingham University Hospital, where she subsequently worked as a consultant. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS).
