Dr. Anita Clarke is a Senior Urologist at St Vincent’s Health in Melbourne and the Director of the Victorian Lithotripsy Service. With a career dedicated to both clinical practice and education, Dr. Clarke has been an influential figure in the training and development of urology professionals, having served on the Board of Urology for ten years. She currently holds the prestigious position of Senior Examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) in Urology, overseeing examination processes for trainees across Australia and New Zealand.
Dr. Clarke's clinical expertise spans a wide range of urological conditions, with special interests in uro-oncology, stone disease, and functional and reconstructive urology. She also plays a vital role in multidisciplinary pelvic cancer surgery, integrating a team-based approach to ensure comprehensive care for her patients. Her practice emphasises thorough data entry, auditing, and most importantly, surgical teaching.
In addition to her private practice, Dr. Clarke maintains an academic appointment in the public hospital sector, where she applies her wealth of knowledge and experience to mentor the next generation of surgeons. She has a particular focus on bladder cancer, kidney stone disease, and female urology, areas in which she has developed significant expertise.
Having completed her urology training in Victoria, Dr. Clarke pursued further specialisation with a uro-oncology fellowship at the Royal Brisbane Hospital.
