About Dr Andrew Jordan
Dr Andrew Jordan qualified from Oxford University in 2006. Thereafter he undertook trainee years as a junior doctor in the Oxford area and subsequently London, including the Royal Brompton Hospital. In 2010, he moved to the Wessex deanery as a specialist registrar. Subsequently, he was awarded the Gawthorn Research Fellowship at the University of Exeter, using state-of-the-art microvascular techniques and cardiac MRI to explore the physiological basis and treatment of resistant hypertension. Presently, he is the Clinical Lead for Cardiology at University Hospitals Dorset, meaning that he is the lead cardiologist for Bournemouth and Poole Hospitals. Private consultations, tests and treatments are offered at BMI The Harbour Hospital, Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital and on-site at Poole Hospital. Outside of work, he lives with his young family in Broadstone and enjoys playing the violin in a local orchestra. He is a keen skier and keen (but less competent) golfer. Dr Jordan has expertise in a wide range of areas including: • Exercise testing • Ambulatory ECG monitoring • DC cardioversion • Loop recorder implantation • Pacemaker implantation and diagnostics (single and dual chamber) • Transthoracic echocardiography • Stress echocardiography (exercise and pharmacological) • Transoesophageal echocardiography • Cardiac MRI • Non-invasive imaging and diagnostics • Hypertension • Pacemakers • Cardiovascular disease in pregnancy
