He also completed a 2-year training course in Psychogeriatrics at Geneva University Hospital. Dr Mateev was awarded a Medical Doctorate for his research work surrounding functional status assessments in the frail elderly. He later moved to the UAE and became a DHA Licensed Consultant in 2019.

At United Medical Center, Dr Mateev manages cases of both normal and pathological ageing, as well as complex geriatric multimorbid patients. He offers diagnostic and treatment services for dementia and other psychiatric disorders in the elderly.
