In 1998, he was elected as a Full Member of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery and presented his work on the surgical treatment of melanoma. He also takes part in the annual congresses in Brazil and other countries.
He is a member of a number of international societies including ASAPS, ASPS, CBC, SBCP, and ISAPS.
