Amrit Sagoo
Psychotherapy
About
Her therapeutic approach includes counselling, existential psychotherapy, and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR). Amrit uses a trauma-informed, relational, and human-first approach to support her clients through their healing journey. Her work is grounded in deep compassion, self-awareness, and an appreciation of the full spectrum of human experiences.
Amrit has over a decade of experience working across multiple sectors including the NHS, the prison service, detention centres, and mental health and wellbeing organisations. She previously worked at The Havens, the sexual assault referral centre at King’s College Hospital, and served as a staff trauma counsellor at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust during the COVID-19 pandemic as part of the CONTACT staff support service. She currently works as a senior counsellor at Help for Heroes, supporting veterans and their families.
Amrit brings a grounded, therapeutically agile style to her work. Her sessions are shaped by both clinical training and personal insight, offering clients a safe space to explore their pain and develop greater understanding and connection. Her therapeutic interests include the impact of violence, war, and trauma, and she is particularly focused on helping individuals reconnect with themselves and others after experiences that have fragmented their sense of self.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
