Ammarah Ashraf is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She graduated with a First Class in Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Psychology from Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK. She subsequently completed her Masters in Clinical Psychology at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. She has over 5 years of experience in clinical & research work & over 3 years of experience in supervision and capacity building & training. Her clinical interests have been working with adolescents and adults across a range of psychosocial and clinical issues such as depression, anxiety disorders, trauma and related disorders.
Ammarah uses a broad range of therapeutic approaches like cognitive behavioural therapy, psychodynamic approaches & insight oriented approaches as well.
Ammarah Ashraf has also been a passionate teacher and has taught a broad variety of courses in universities in Sri Lanka. She has lectured and participated in seminars and panel discussions around mental health both locally and internationally. She also has been working on raising awareness on mental health through such seminars and her social media @thelankanpsychologist.
