Dr Ali AlDibbiat is a Consultant Endocrinologist at Prime Hospital and Prime Medical Centre - Mizhar in Dubai. He has two decades of clinical experience and qualified in medicine at the University of Aleppo, Syria in 2001.
Dr AlDibbiat was awarded a MPhil and PhD from Newcastle University in 2011 for his work surrounding Islet Transplantation and Cell Therapy for Diabetes. He became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2012 and was awarded a further MRCP in Diabetes and Endocrinology from the College in 2015. Following this he trained at a number of centres of excellence in England in both Diabetes and Endocrinology as well as Internal Medicine. Soon after he acquired his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Diabetes and Endocrinology as well as a CCT in Internal Medicine from the General Medical Council, UK in 2017.
He was first appointed as a Consultant in the UK at James Cook University Hospital, during which he was also the Consultant Lead for Diabetes Technology, Clinical Research and for Diabetes and Endocrine Disorders in Pregnancy. Dr AlDibbiat became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, UK in 2019.
His areas of expertise lie in all areas of endocrinology, including both Type 1 and 2 Diabetes, diabetes in pregnancy and diabetes related conditions. He also has experience in the management of thyroid gland disorders, adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders and hormonal disorders. He has several years of experience in the use of diabetes technology, including insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring as well as administering hormone replacement therapies.
Dr AlDibbiat holds professional memberships with a number of international societies, including: the Endocrine Society (USA), Society for Endocrinology (UK), the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (USA) and Diabetes UK. In addition to his medical practice, he also holds the position of External Examiner at the University of South Wales, UK in which he examines postgraduate programs in diabetes. He is also actively involved in research and has published a number of peer-reviewed papers in high impact international journals as well as presented his work internationally.
