Univ. Prof. Dr. Alexander Klaus ist Facharzt für Allgemein- und Viszeralchirurgie und leitet die Abteilung für Chirurgie am Krankenhaus der Barmherzigen Schwestern in Wien, wo er auch als Ärztlicher Direktor tätig ist. Seine Ordination befindet sich in Wien Mariahilf. Mit langjähriger Erfahrung und internationaler Ausbildung bietet Dr. Klaus ein umfassendes chirurgisches Behandlungsspektrum auf höchstem Niveau. Sein Schwerpunkt liegt in der Anwendung minimalinvasiver und roboterassistierter Operationstechniken, der onkologischen Chirurgie sowie der bariatrischen Chirurgie. Als zertifizierter Roboterchirurg führt er Eingriffe mit dem Da Vinci Xi System durch, der modernsten Generation chirurgischer Robotik, die besonders präzise, schonende und sichere Behandlungen ermöglicht. Das Leistungsspektrum umfasst Eingriffe an Magen, Leber, Bauchspeicheldrüse, Dickdarm und Milz sowie Operationen bei Hernien, Schilddrüsen und Nebenschilddrüsenerkrankungen. Darüber hinaus bietet Dr. Klaus endoskopische Untersuchungen wie Gastroskopien, Koloskopien und funktionelle Abklärungen wie Manometrie und pH Metrie an. In der bariatrischen Chirurgie gehören Magenbypass, Sleeve Resektion und Umwandlungsoperationen zu seinen Spezialgebieten. Dank seiner wissenschaftlichen Tätigkeit und innovativen Ansätze zählt Dr. Klaus zu den führenden Chirurgen Österreichs. Er war an mehreren medizinischen Premieren beteiligt, darunter die erste Single Incision Operation und die erste tagesklinische Gallenblasenoperation in Österreich. Zudem war er maßgeblich am Aufbau des ersten nach DGAV CAADIP zertifizierten Adipositaszentrums im Land beteiligt und ist Mitglied des Chirurgischen Beirats der Österreichischen Gesellschaft für Roboterchirurgie.
